FAQs
What battery type is used? Is it safe to use indoors?
GEYOTO portable power stations use LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) batteries, which are known for their superior safety, stability, and long lifespan compared to traditional lithium-ion batteries.
They are completely safe for indoor use because they:
• Do not produce fumes or emissions
• Do not require fuel
• Operate quietly with no noise
In addition, the built-in Battery Management System (BMS) provides multiple layers of protection, including:
• Overcharge protection
• Over-discharge protection
• Overload protection
• Temperature control
This ensures safe operation both indoors and outdoors.
How Do You Charge a Portable Power Station?
You can charge GEYOTO portable power stations in multiple ways, making them highly flexible for different scenarios:
• Wall outlet (AC charging) – fastest and most common method
• Solar panels – ideal for outdoor and off-grid use
• Car charger (12V) – convenient while traveling
• Generator (gas/diesel) – for emergency backup
This multi-charging capability ensures you always have power wherever you are.
Can I charge and use it at the same time?(Pass-through)
Yes. GEYOTO portable power stations support pass-through charging, which means you can use the device while it is being charged.
This is especially useful for:
• Emergency backup situations
• Continuous use scenarios (routers, CPAP, etc.)
• Outdoor or off-grid environments
How long does it take to fully charge?
Charging time depends on the capacity and charging method:
256Wh model: about 93 minutes via AC charging
Solar or car charging may take longer depending on:
Sunlight conditions
Panel wattage
Input power limits
What can a portable power station run?
256Wh: Best for small electronics and short trips:
- Smartphones (15–20 charges)
- Laptops (3–5 charges)
- Cameras, drones
- LED lights, Wi-Fi routers
Ideal for: camping, travel, daily backup
How long does a portable power station last?
Runtime depends on the power consumption of your device.
Estimated runtime formula:
Runtime ≈ Battery Capacity (Wh) × 0.85 ÷ Device Power (W)
256Wh:
10W device → ~20 hours
60W laptop → ~3–4 hours
How long will it last? Does it degrade over time?
GEYOTO uses high-quality LiFePO4 batteries with:
Up to 4000 charge cycles (to ~80% capacity)
Designed for long-term daily use
Like all batteries, capacity will gradually decrease over time, but LiFePO4 degrades much more slowly than standard lithium batteries, ensuring years of reliable performance.
What warranty do you offer?
We provide a 3-year standard warranty for all GEYOTO portable power stations.
In addition, you can get 2 years extended warranty (total of 5 years) by registering as a member, giving you extra peace of mind and long-term support.
What’s the difference between 256Wh and 1024Wh? Which one should I choose?
The main difference is capacity and power capability:
•256Wh → Lightweight, portable, for small devices and short use
•1024Wh → Higher capacity, supports larger devices and longer runtime
How to choose:
For camping / light use → 256Wh
For home backup / high-power devices → 1024Wh
If you're unsure, choose based on the wattage of the devices you plan to power.
What devices cannot be powered by a portable power station?
Devices that exceed the unit’s rated output power cannot be supported.
Examples may include:
•Air conditioners
•Electric heaters
•Large ovens or heavy-duty appliances
Always check your device’s wattage before use to ensure compatibility.
