This review is for the 45w solar panel charger from GEYOTO.This charger is perfect if you are looking for an ultra portable solar panel that actually produces enough power to keep personal electronics charged. It’s rated at 45w, but don’t be fooled; the rating on any solar panel is its output under perfect conditions. You can expect half that most of the time. This is not a knock on GEYOTO, it’s totally normal and to be expected.45w means I have about the amount of power I need to recharge a phone, tablet, and/or personal battery banks. It should also be able to handle most low power efficient laptops but don’t expect continuous operation of a high power laptop.Conveniently this folds up into a size very similar to a thin laptop, or slightly larger than a tablet. It will fit inside the laptop sleeve on most backpacks, although it may be a little large for some purpose made tablet sleeves.There’s 3 power outputs on here, so in theory you can charge 3 devices at once, but I would only try this under ideal sunlight conditions where the panel can make a lot of power. If the panel is only making 10-20w, which is common, it’s good for charging a phone.The green LED on the back of the panel lights up as soon as the panel has sunlight and is making power, letting you know it’s ready to use.If there’s one thing missing it’s a kickstand to help point the panels at the sun. You can of course prop it up against a wall, a rock, a bag, or whatever you have on hand.I have 2 uses for this in mind: first is for backpackers and hikers who want a power source in the field. Second is as budget home emergency power source, where you will have to accept that it has nowhere near enough power to run your home appliances, but it can keep a few phones, radios, battery banks, and other electronics working long term. For either application I think it’s great.It’s really great that companies like GEYOTO are able to bring solar power solutions that work and are affordable. This unit in particular has an excellent balance of price to performance.Pictured on top of an old thin laptop for scale. The folded solar panel is thicker, but they have about the same footprint.

Great solar panel. It is a good size and works well. It’s USB so keep in mind when purchasing. I am happy with the purchase and have used it multiple times. Overall good quality panel and and at a great price.

This GEYOTO foldable solar charger is a nice portable charging option for camping, hiking, backpacking, or keeping in an emergency kit. The folding design makes it much easier to pack than a rigid solar panel, and the included carabiners are useful if you want to hang it from a backpack, tent, or vehicle while it charges.The multiple output ports are a big plus. Having USB-C PD, another USB-C port, and USB-A gives you flexibility for charging phones, power banks, small lights, or other USB devices without needing a separate adapter. I would still recommend using it mainly to charge a power bank first, then charging devices from the power bank, since solar output can vary a lot depending on sun angle, clouds, and shade.Build quality feels good for a portable panel. The waterproof rating and reinforced design are reassuring for outdoor use, though I would still avoid leaving the ports or junction area exposed to heavy rain. The LED status indicator is helpful because it lets you know when the panel is actually generating power.Overall, this is a useful and compact solar charger for outdoor trips, backup power, and off-grid charging. Just keep realistic expectations: like all portable solar panels, it works best in strong direct sunlight and will be slower in cloudy or shaded conditions.

GEYOTO make some really high-quality products. I have a 300 W power station from them. That is awesome and I love it a lot. It works really great and I'm a huge fan. However, the only drawback of the solar panels is the fact that you can't use them to charge something like a power station. That was something that I should have looked at closer before purchasing as that's really why I bought it, however this is really nice if you go backpacking a lot, it comes with cables and strings that you can attach it to the back of your backpack and then plug your phone into it or whatever device you're trying to charge and it will charge that device while you're on the move or you can just set it up and lay it down on the ground and it will charge whatever device you are plugged in. Quality wise the solar panels seem to work really well and they seem to be very high-quality. They have little button snaps to keep it all together and it comes out. A really nice felt bag along with the strings and clips that I was talking about earlier for your backpack. Portability wise this is really super portable. It's you just slide into your bag and it doesn't take up any more room than a laptop wood. Ease abuse is very easy. Literally roll it out to where it's facing the sun used either the USPA or USB-C ports plug in your device and you're off to the races. Charging wise it's not super fast but that's to be expected with solar panels. It's only a 45 W panel so it's not gonna charge anything super fast but it's better than nothing, especially when you're out in the middle of nowhere. Overall, if you're in need of just a simple solar panel that you just plug in like a cell phone or headphones or something into then this is great for you however, if you're looking to charge something bigger with like a DC input, this is not going to work for you. For charging a phone or smaller devices I give this a 8 out of 10.

Honestly expected budget quality at this price. Was completely wrong. This panel punches well above its price class in every way.

Set it out at 8am and had my 20,000mAh power bank fully charged by 12:30pm on a clear day. Very efficient output.
